Data we collect

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 (ID: G-ST3E7BE48Y), provided by Google LLC, to analyse website traffic. This service is only activated if the user accepts analytics cookies via the consent banner.

Data collected by Google Analytics includes:

  • Pages visited and session duration
  • Device type, browser and operating system
  • Approximate geographic location (country/region, not exact address)
  • Traffic source (search engine, direct link, social media)

Google Analytics uses cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to distinguish users. We do not collect names, email addresses or any personally identifiable data.

Local storage (localStorage)

The site stores data in the user's browser via localStorage:

  • trailruntemple:cookie-consent — Stores the cookie preference (accept/reject). Not sent to any server.
  • trailruntemple:planificador — Stores the race selection in the season planner. Not sent to any server.

This data remains exclusively in the user's browser and is never transmitted to TrailRunTemple or any third party.

Data we do NOT collect

TrailRunTemple is a static website with no application server. We have no contact forms, user registration system, database, newsletter or any mechanism for directly collecting personal data.

Legal basis for processing

  • Consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR): for Google Analytics cookies. The user can freely accept or reject these cookies via the consent banner.
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR): for essential local storage (cookie preference), necessary for the proper functioning of the consent mechanism.

Purpose of processing

  • Web traffic analysis: understanding how users navigate the site to improve content and user experience.
  • Site functionality: remembering the cookie preference and the planner race selection.

Data recipients

The only data shared with third parties is analytics data sent to Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) via Google Analytics 4, and only when the user has given consent.

We do not sell, transfer or share personal data with any other third party.

International transfers

Google LLC is based in the United States. Data transfer to the US is covered by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (European Commission adequacy decision of 10 July 2023), which ensures an adequate level of data protection.

Data retention

  • Google Analytics data: according to our account's data retention settings (14 months by default in GA4).
  • localStorage: data persists in the user's browser until manually deleted or browser data is cleared.

User rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 on Personal Data Protection (LOPDGDD), the user has the right to:

  • Access: request confirmation of whether personal data is being processed and access it.
  • Rectification: request the correction of inaccurate data.
  • Erasure: request the deletion of personal data.
  • Restriction: request that processing be restricted in certain circumstances.
  • Portability: request to receive data in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Objection: object to the processing of personal data.
  • Withdrawal of consent: withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

Minors

This website is not directed at anyone under the age of 14. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 14, in accordance with Article 7 of the LOPDGDD.

Modifications

The data controller reserves the right to modify this privacy policy to adapt it to legislative or case-law developments, as well as industry practices. Modifications will take effect from the time of their publication on the website.
